Nine orcas have beached themselves in New Zealand.
The pod, comprising of eight adults and one juvenile, beached themselves at the remote Blue Cliffs Beach on the far south coast of the South Island on February 12, 2014.
Mass beachings of pilot whales are common in New Zealand but it’s unusual for so many orcas to run aground at the same time.
Authorities don’t know the reason why the orcas stranded themselves. It’s unfortunate and will have quite a major impact on the national population which is sitting around 200 animals.
It seems as the world is experiencing more cetacean beachings than ever before.
Peru saw 400 beached dolphins in December. This beaching could have been a tragic reaction to nearby acoustic “impact”, with oil companies doing exploratory drilling in the area. The mammals’ remains were found on beaches stretching across the northern departments of Piura and Lambayeque, said Peruvian Sea Institute official Jaime de la Cruz in Chiclayo.
25 died in Florida in January… what is going on?
We know that the NAVY has expanded the range in which they will perform war games and training, and we are aware that any changes in pressure caused y loud noises underwater can hurt and possibly kill whales. ( Sonar, air guns, underwater bomb explosions )
With this late thought in mind ( changes of pressure underwater caused by unexpected loud noises ) have you ever fathom the possibility of an underwater earthquake being responsible for causing sufficient pressure changes in its surroundings to hurt the delicate ear drums of whales or dolphins causing them to lose the ability to dive for food and therefor ( once weakened and debilitated ) be carried by the current in to a beach?
At this point we would like to take in consideration every possibility. Every theory or hypothesis should be studied so we can learn more about what is causing all the beachings around the world. We need to learn and investigate so we can HELP the best we can.
It would be nearly IMPOSSIBLE to know when and where the NAVY is performing war games and experiments but its NOT impossible to know when and where earthquakes with the magnitude that could hurt our cetacean friends have happened.
I assume you are asking yourself if there is something I know that you don’t about the correlation between cetacean beaching and earth quakes. The answer is yes. Please click on this link to learn about it, http://deafwhale.blogspot.com/2014/01/cape-cod-may-see-mass-whale-beachings.html If you read the headlines on this blog, this actually a prediction for a future beaching! Be on the look out Cape Cod, there is a chance that we could experience yet another mass beaching anytime from February 17th to the 24th 2014.
We have been attacked in the past for sharing our knowledge and thoughts about the possibility that earthquakes can cause enough underwater pressure changes to hurt cetaceans eardrums BUT despite all attacks we feel the obligation to share this with you. We think you should know and make your own conclusions just as we did.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that the NAVY sonar war games are hurting the whales and dolphins. There is ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that drilling for oil and shooting loud air guns under the water is hurting our cetacean friends, but could it be possible that dolphins and whales have ONE more element to worry about? One more enemy? Seaquakes
